Husband of model Claudia Schiffer – Matthew Vaughn is in discussion with the 20th Century Fox, about taking over the helm of the ‘X-Men’ movies. The duo is in discussion over the director-ship duties of the ‘X-Men: First Class’ movie franchise. Earlier also the 39 year old Matthew was in discussion with the producers over who would direct the ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ but the discussions leaded nowhere because Matthew was not interested in re-locating his family to Vancouver, where the movie was supposed to be filmed. The latest movie from the X-Men stable would follow the trials and tribulations of Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto, as they are planning to open a special school for mutants.
Matthew has recently directed the movie ‘Kick-Ass’ which is about a teenager who is nerdy and who thinks that he wants to become a superhero. Prior to this, the director husband of supermodel Claudia Schiffer has also directed other movies like ‘Layer Cake’ and ‘Stardust’.
Emma Watts who is the President of production of Fox said that, Matthew’s combination of talent, verve and vision is perfectly suited to the task. ‘X-Men: First Class’ presents an exciting opportunity to further explore the history and relationships of these beloved characters.
