The 16th Nokia Star Screen Awards 2010 was a truly spectacular event and
the movie buffs watched the broadcast with rapt attention. The bigwigs of
Bollywood were all present at the ceremony and it was a hard fight among
the best movies of 2009, as well as the actors.

The Best film award went to Rajkumar Hirani directed " 3 Idiots " the Chetan Bhagat controversy notwithstanding. The film which has proved to be the biggest hit of 2009, beat other contenders like ' Love Aaj Kal ' and Vishal Bhardwaj's ' Kaminey '. Another heavyweight was ' Paa ' which lost out in the best film category but won in several other segments. ' 3 Idiots ' won in various categories.

The best actor and actress award were bagged by Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan, both of whom acted in ' Paa '. Kavita Seth won the award for the best female singer for her excellent vocal range displayed in ' Wake Up Sid's Ore Manwa tracks. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan trounced the competition in the best male playback category for his ' Love Aaj Kal' track Aaj Din. A.R.Rahman won the best music director award for his mind blowing music in Delhi 6.

It was 3 Idiots that dominated the ceremony. From the feedback of the viewers it is clear this movie will win many more awards in upcoming awards ceremonies.
