National award winner Bala who is known to direct dark film, will venture into newer pastures with Avan Ivan. The film which will star Arya, Vishal and Janani Iyer will have a generous dose of comedy. "It is not an all out comedy in it. The film will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. When asked why he chose Yuvan and not maestro Ilaiyaraaja, Bala explained "This story has a lot of young elements and I can't go to Ilaiayaraaja and ask him to score for such numbers. So, I decided to try Yuvan out this time.

Shoot for Avan Ivan will start on February 10 in Sengottai and Tenkasi. I will finish this film in six months announced Bala, much to the delight of the people gathered around to wish him and yes, Avan Ivan is on an annan-thambi subject!
