Rocker Sting is returning to Broadway, he's working on a musical for the New York stage. The former The Police's frontman, 58, has confirmed rumors he's teamed up with Tony Award-winning songwriter Brian Yorkie to pen his first Broadway project, but admits the final product is still a while away because they've yet to settle on one idea.
He tells People magazine, "We're in the very early stages of thinking about what a show could be like. I'm working with Brian Yorkie." Sting is no stranger to the Broadway stage, he starred in a production of "The Threepenny Opera" in the late 1980s.
"The Threepenny Opera" itself opens with the moritat singer comparing Macheath with a shark, and then telling tales of his robberies, murders, rapes and arson.
