The actress Genelia is back with a bubbly girl role as Pooja in 'Uthamaputhiran', which has Dhanush in male lead role. Its a remake of Genelia Telugu film 'Ready'. It was directed by Mithran Jawahar.

Genelia playing a bubbly girl role is not new to her and she is doing the same role she did in the original version 'Ready'. She play a bubbly NRI girl who called Pooja and she is torn in a family dispute. Genelia's role has been modified to suit the Tamil audience.
