Hot and happy news for all Thala fans. Its official now Ajith will start work on 'Billa 2' once he completes his golden jubilee film 'Mankatha' which is directed by Venkat Prabhu.

The film will be produced by Suresh Balaji, the son of legendary producer and actor K Balaje who is produced the original 'Billa'.

The producer says that it was the dream of his late father K Balaje to make a part II of the biggest hit of Rajini's 'Billa' . Now they have signed Ajith for 'Billa 2' along with the rest of team who did the 'Billa' remake consisting of Vishnu vardhan, cinematographer Nirav Shah, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja.

'Billa 2' will be a prequel and its not a sequel to the earlier Ajith's 'Billa'. The director is currently giving the final touches to the 'Billa 2' script.
