'Aranya Kandam' film has won the Grand Jury Award for the best movie at the prestigious 7th SAIFF (South Asian International Film Festival) in New York. The jury has announced the award on Tuesday on the last day of the festival.

This festival is held to spot the right talent of potential film makers and support them in giving a right platform. 'Aranya Kandam' has bagged an award before the release. The film futures Ravi Krishna, Jackie Shroff and Yamini Ponappa in lead roles.

Debutant director Thyagarajan Kumararaja's directed the film and SPB Charan produced the film. Yuvan Shankar Raja scored music for the film.
